Deepwater GWK-8 is a gas well in deep sea with 1500 meters water depth and deviated sandstone formation that has good permeability, potentially high-rate well, high reservoir pressures, large size. This expected to immediately ramp up production at optimal productivity through Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) Makassar Strait. For deep-water exploration must be commercially viable, it needs achieve rate. Gas initially was not meet the expectations, so needed optimized by one of stimulation method suitable for this matrix acidizing. Sandstone screened Shape Memory Polymer (SMP) sand control system acidizing carried out optimize deliverability dissolving impurities normalize damage wellbore. Methodology study begins collecting data on data, lithology, completion, well-testing. The optimization process based initial well-testing results where skin (s) pre-acidizing 46 permeability (k) 51.4 mD. uses mud acid (HCl-HF) upper zone deepwater been installed pay area. Based post-matrix acidizing, successfully proven reducing number from 10, increasing mD 120 mD, 30 MMSCFD 44 MMSCFD.
